Why we picked it
The jug body is glass rather than plastic, and the MAXTRA PRO cartridge combines activated carbon with ion-exchange resin. In a test by the Belgian consumer group Test-Achats, a BRITA jug with MAXTRA PRO removed up to 96% of some PFAS and all four PFAS that EFSA regulates.
Best for
People who want a glass jug that cuts chlorine taste and kettle scale, with some PFAS reduction
Not for
Anyone who needs certified lead or PFAS reduction, for example in a house with lead pipes
The details that matter.
- • Glass jug body, plastic lid and cartridge
- • Reduces chlorine taste and temporary hardness (kettle scale)
- • Independent consumer test showed strong PFAS reduction
- • No third-party certification for lead or PFAS
